Earthen Art + Regenerative Practice
Earth Rise Collective is a women-led art and building collective. We create site-responsive earthworks and sanctuaries from natural, regenerative materials. Through participatory construction, storytelling, and skill-sharing, we transform spaces of extraction into places of collective power and care, bridging art, ecology, and community.
Earth Rise Collective is an initiative of Habitat Recovery Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our Practice:
We operate at the intersection of environmental justice, spiritual practice, and creative action. Our work is designed to cultivate a new culture of care and resilience. We are an evolving community of artists, builders, healers, and activists united by a common purpose.
Our Method:
Collaboration: We work alongside communities most impacted by ecological harm, centering their voices through partnership, participatory building, and shared decision-making.
Regenerative Making: We reimagine construction as an artistic, regenerative act of creation and connection, using timeless techniques and materials like clay, straw, shell, and salvage, alongside contemporary ecological wisdom.
Ceremonial Action: We combine communal ceremonies and natural building workshops to transform spaces into places of meaning, memory, and hope.
Our Guiding Principle:
Guided by the interplay between void and form, our practice transforms excavation from an extractive act into one of care. We shape sculptural spaces that hold memory: designed not just for shelter, but for reflection, gathering, and renewal.
